My First Time Skydiving

At first, I was really nervous and my anxiety built up. But what happened was on that Saturday morning when I was scheduled to jump, it quickly changed into anticipation because the weather was bad and it turned into a waiting game for me. We had some gusty winds (between 14kmph – 18kmph) which made it dangerous for me to jump since I was too light. So my friend got to skydive and I left feeling sad, heartbroken, disappointed and a little bit jealous.

Then on Sunday, the winds were extremely high (35kmph) and it was declared a “no jump day” for everyone.

I was extremely broken-hearted because I was not even sure what the weather would be like the next day, which was the day I was leaving Las Vegas. I had a flight to catch at 11 am and needed to check-in at the airport at 9 am. I accepted that I may not get to do this again. I prepared myself to be okay with not being able to do it after going all the way to Las Vegas to skydive!

But all was well…. the weather was perfect on Monday morning. Sammy and Iva from Skydive Fyrosity made sure everyone arrived early so that I was able to jump off a plane, 1 hour before heading to the airport to jump on another plane to catch my flight back home.

If you’re ever in Vegas, check out Skydive Fyrosity. They treated me like I was part of their family and their team. They made sure I was able to skydive before leaving and dropped me back to get to the airport in time too!

There’s a saying that goes “if excites you and scares you at the same time, then it is a must-do”. Say I did it. Not that I always wanted to do it.

The best things in life are on the other side of fear. Feel the fear and do it anyway. The sky is not the limit. You are your only limit. You have to want it more than you are afraid of it.

I did say a couple of months ago I want a life full of adventures. The greatest adventure you can take is living the life of your dreams.

I skydived over the Valley of Fire and Lake Mead in Nevada. A very beautiful picturesque view from above.

Valley of Fire got its name from red sandstone formations, the Aztec sandstone which forms from shifting dunes 150 million years ago. Lake Mead is a man-made lake that lies on the Colorado River. It’s the largest reservoir in the US in terms of water capacity.

There are seven days in a week and someday is NOT one of them. All you need is seconds of insane courage. Experience life outside of your comfort zone.

Don’t just exist. Don’t tiptoe through life. When you’re scared to do something is when you need to “jump” else you will remain in the same place for the rest of your life.

Fear, uncertainty, and discomfort are your compasses towards growth.

Explore. Experience. Dream. Discover. Push Beyond.

PS: If you need help translating “Nelz Language”…”twirls” meant my jump haha. Also clearly I was at a lost for words because it was so freaking AMAZING.
